Weekly Update – June 19, 2017

Breakfast and Wellness Fair June 23!

Upcoming School Board/Subcommittee Meetings

“This is our last Weekly Update!  I never thought this day would arrive- I guess I thought I would go on working forever.  I believed this because I love my job and I love being around our students and all of you.  I’ve loved each and every position I’ve held in Raymond- the good days have always far outweighed any “bad days”.   I haven’t been able to see all of you these last few days so please accept this as my sincere thanks for all you have done for me.  Over the years you have been my mentor, a colleague, an advocate, a coach, my support, and a friend.  Thank you- I will miss you all so very much.” ~ Ellen

Upcoming School Board/Subcommittee Meetings

The School Board is holding their regular meeting on Wednesday, June 21.  The meeting will open with a public hearing for the expenditure of capital reserve funds for upgrading two bathrooms at LRES and to upgrade air conditioning in three office areas at RHS.  Following the public hearing, the Board will hear a request regarding a memorial plaque at IHGMS.

Bob Bickford will be reviewing the 2017-18 IHGMS Student Handbook, and then Steve Woodward will be talking about enrichment opportunities for students at RHS during 2017-18.

The Board will be taking action on a donation from the Knight of Columbus of $1,341.90 to LRES, as well as the expenditure of capital reserve funds as reviewed during the earlier public hearing.  They will also be taking action on the proposed revised policies before them for second reading: IKF High School Graduation and IKFA-R Early Graduation Plan.

The Board will hear the financial update for months ending May 31. They will then be reviewing the District Investment Policies DFA and DFA-R, which must be reviewed annually as per policy.  Following that, they will be reviewing and signing the School Board Auditor Questionnaire, which is an annual document requested by our auditors to answer some simple statements about the financial practices in the district.

The School Board will also be addressing a possible recommendation for a bus stop location at the proposed development at 41 Chester Road. They will be doing a site visit to view the potential stop location in person earlier that evening, at 6:00 PM.

The regular School Board meeting begins at 6:45 PM on Wednesday, June 21.  You can view the agenda and find links to public backup at www.sau33.com/agenda.

The Shared Resources Committee is meeting on Thursday, June 22 at 7:00 PM in the RHS Media Center.
